Q. do I need to be naked?

A. You can be if that’s what feels comfortable for you. Massage can be done with or without clothes, and if you do choose to be completely undressed, you will be tucked in with a sheet and blanket. Your personal comfort and boundaries are important, and if you want to wear clothing, just make sure it is stretchy, and not bulky.

 

Q. How often should I get massaged?

A. This answer is different for different people, but the range for the average person is 1-4 weeks. For very active people, people who are healing after an injury, or those who want to kick-start their massage routines benefits, a weekly massage can be an incredibly helpful addition to your self-care routine. Many people eventually begin coming in every two weeks for maintenance work, and some people can feel balanced with a massage every three weeks or even every four. Coming in some is still better than not coming in at all. Even a massage once or twice a year will benefit your body, mind, and spirit in such a valuable way.

 

Q. Why should I get massages?

A. First of all, they are amazing. Probably more importantly, as we age, our bodies need help healing. Massage manipulates blood-flow, and brings oxygen to more of your muscle tissue. It also lowers blood pressure, and brings the brain and body into rest and digest nervous system function. Basically, it is really good for you! (and it feels amazing.)

 

Q. What about facials?

A. Did you know that your skin is your largest organ? It’s true. The skin cell cycle begins to decline at age 25. To fight this, facials remove dead skin, replenish hydration, moisture, and incorporate specific treatments based on your skin’s needs. This practice can help keep your skin healthy, fresh, and help rejuvenate skin cells as they begin to age more rapidly. Facials are recommended weekly or every two weeks when working towards a specific goal, and 4-6 weeks for skin health maintenance.

 

Q. Is waxing right for me?

A. Waxing is a form of hair removal that lasts about 2 weeks, with a recommended cycle of 4-6 weeks. It is a low maintenance, and thorough form of hair removal best-suited for people with normal skin that is not sensitive. You cannot be waxed if you have taken Accutane in the last six months, had a botox injections in the last 24 hours, or have damaged or broken skin.

 

Q. What’s the difference between a bikini and brazilian wax?

A. A bikini wax includes just the hair that would show outside of a bikini style bottom. A Brazilian wax includes up to all hair removed from the genitals, and around the booty hole. Many people chose to leave a shape or natural looking patch of hair on the mons pubis area when getting a Brazilian wax.
